MISSION

A society based on legitimate rights, equity, justice, honesty, social sensitivity and a culture of service in which all are self-reliant.

VISION

Aasmaa’s focus and sole reason for existence is the child, especially the girl child, street child and disabled child. The family of the child is the medium through which the development takes place. Organisation and sensitisation of the community is the approach through which empowerment, capacity building and social transformation are attempted.

OUR PROJECTS

PROJECT ASHA

Renewing hope for people in NEED.

Asha was our first project. In sept. 2010, we all are aware about the severity of flood in Uttaranchal and the destruction was limitless. Though natural calamities was not our main stream but it was the call of nature that needed immediate attention. All the team members worked hard and gathered lots of items that was needed for aid.We also supported the Damini case that bought shame to whole country in Dec 2012. We holded protests march at several areas with nukkad natak ‘Sab Chalta Hai’, enacted by our kids. It was a sarcasam on the careless attitude of our government on such a sensitive case.

PROJECT UDAAN

Education To Unprivileged

In feb’2011, we started our project Udaan in our society park, under which we started teaching children of rickshaw pullers, maids, guards and labours. We started with 7 students and soon it was joined by many. One hour class turned into three sessions of one hour each. We made education fun for them and this could be seen in their results. In 2013, we had to shift to Haiderpur as the number of children increased. We work on holistic education with overall development. We help them in admission procedures, guidance and counselling; involve them in extra curricular activities like dance, theatre, sports and quizzes; regular excursions and regular health checkups with necessary follow ups. At priority, we are presently looking for our own setup where we can make arrangements to provide high class education system to these kids.

PROJECT SAMMAN

Respectful Living To Aged & Homeless

“At AASMAA, we passionately advocate for the inherent right of every individual to lead a life of dignity. Our unwavering commitment to this belief is reflected in our relentless efforts, particularly through our vocational training initiatives for girls under the ‘Project Empowerment.’ This groundbreaking project not only equips these young women with valuable skills but also empowers them to live life with respect and achieve financial independence.

One of our key strategies involves organizing vibrant celebrations of various festivals at Anath Ashrams, Vridh Ashrams, and within underprivileged communities. These joyous occasions not only foster a sense of community but also serve as a powerful symbol of inclusivity and shared happiness. By spreading the joy of festivals, we aim to bridge gaps and create a society where every individual, regardless of their background, can experience the warmth and respect they deserve.

Join us in our mission to champion the cause of dignity and empowerment. Together, let’s create a world where everyone can live respectfully and thrive.”

SUGANDHAM

Spreading The Essence Of Joy

Sugandham, an initiative under the Aasmaa Foundation umbrella, is dedicated to rallying like-minded women to participate not only in leisure and entertainment but also in educational pursuits and fulfilling social responsibilities. Serving as a reminder to society, particularly women, of the impactful change that collective efforts can bring, Sugandham acts as a pivotal force in shaping a brighter future for our country and society, bridging the gap between the urban class and the less privileged.

In the years leading up to 2016, Sugandham organized a series of workshops exclusively for women in the urban sector. These workshops covered diverse topics, including self-make-up and hair styling by VLCC, cookery sessions by Chef Manju Mittal, insights into finances and banking schemes by Oriental Bank of Commerce, and saree draping in more than 15 different styles by Madhu Garg. In April 2016, Sugandham underwent a transformation, emerging as a women’s group that not only continued with educational workshops but also pledged to provide events for entertainment, talent discovery, and the promotion of women entrepreneurs. The overarching goal was to raise awareness about Aasmaa Foundation’s activities and generate funds for the organization.

Sugandham quickly grew into a community of 1000 women from diverse backgrounds, joining forces for events, activities, and contributions to society. Whether participating in workshops on candle decoration or celebrating festivals like Holi with the residents of an Old Age Home, the enthusiasm of Sugandham members was evident in their sparkling eyes. The joyous occasions, filled with bhajans, Radha Krishna raas, and Braj ki phoolon ki holi, showcased the genuine enjoyment of the festivities. The spirit of generosity was palpable as all members came together to make substantial contributions, both in cash and kind, to support the residents of the old age home.
